Bowling 200 Community - Forums and Videos for bowlers

Hey Guys, I have a Question. I have had the Same Bowling Balls For a few Years Now. So they are Probably 3 or 4 years old now. They have a lot of Games on them. I use to average 30-40 games a week.I have A Storm Vertigo, Storm Eraser PBT, and a Zone Pro. I bowled in Leagues for a few years with them, Took a little time off for the Past Few months. My bowling Balls are always stored inside. They Use to be really Hard Hitting and Forgiving Balls. It was almost effortless to get it to the pocket. Now it Just seems like The Two Storm Balls have died on me. I have tried changing My roll and Speed but I still get the Same results, a week hit and little back End. I bowl mostly the House Shots at Snellville And Loganville Bowling alleys. I use to get them polished at the pro Shop and that seemed to help out a lot. But I havent done that in a while cause the pro shop is never open. I try to polish them myself but its not the same as the pro shops since they have the spinning wheel. My Question is, Does the Reaction on these Balls Die over time? Maybe the Ball absorbs to much oil and cause the reaction the be different? Any Input would be helpful, I feel like its Time to do some upgrading but I use to love these balls. Thanks Guys!

Balls definitely die. It may be time to get all of your equipment rejuvenated and professionally cleaned up. Also - maybe consider "treating" yourself to a new bowling ball for the coming winter season :)

I can Get them Polished at the pro shop But that only last a Few sets. Now the Rejuvenate, what does that Consist of and How do they do it. I was thinking about a new Ball, I just have so much invested in these, Would like them to last a little longer.. I was looking at maybe Getting "The Cell" Or a Black Widow.

"I use to get them polished at the pro Shop and that seemed to help out a lot. But I havent done that in a while cause the pro shop is never open".

The polish allowed the ball to "rev up" and save the energy longer so when it got to the backend it still had some "punch". now , if you haven't polished them up in a while and they've got a bit tracked out, the ball is hitting weak because it's not staying "rev'd up" it's loosing it's stored energy going down the lane.

if you're talking about bowling at snellville, you better go polish those balls. oil is nonexsistant there. heaven forbid you have some hand there. you're in trouble. keep the balls polished or get somethong that goes real l o n g before it does anything to have a chance hitting that place till the shot changes.

good luck.

Yeah When i got them Polished at the Pro Shop it was like using a new ball, When I polish them myself it seems better But not as good as how the pro shop does it. Yeah Snellville Has me Confused, One day it seems like there is a little oil then the next day its Bone dry. Sometimes I get a pair of lanes, One Is light oil and the other is dry. And that is right after they oil them. I think there machine is out of wack. It takes some adjusting out there. I just Cant adjust Well without the Ball working with me. Seems like the other people out there with those Nice Shiny new Balls are Putting no Effort into it and Hitting the Pocket Everytime. I Use to be like that and I miss it.

those "shiny" balls are skidding on those bone dry lanes and still have some "humph" on them to carry. wait till they track out a bit, they'll start "checking" up early and hitting weak. 10 pins, 8-10 splits. chopping the head pin off, leaving the 3-6-10. you know the rountine.

snelleville also uses ceratin sections of the house. so one end might be drier than another.

the oil machine, is the "mirage" machine. it's like you're in the dessert, dying for a drink of water. you "think" you see water and relief, only to find out your eyes are playing tricks on you. that's what the oil machine is at snellville. it's a "mirage". it looks like it's doing something but when you get there you find nothing.

you obviously are going through the same issues i have with that place. try getting an inexpensive ball. laid out for length but, to still have some hit after 40-45 ft down the lane. nothing that is gong to flare too crazy. then if you got a little hand, you can catch a drop or two of oil that's on the lane and still bring it back to the pocket with some hit. otherwise you're throwing it down the lane and letting the condition suck it into the pocket.

again, good luck......
