Bowling 200 Community - Forums and Videos for bowlers

About 3 or 4 months ago, I was with Lonnie Hill who was helping me with my approach...and he and his wife noticed that in my normal approach...I walk left.

Well, they spent the rest of the night working with me so that I could try to "narrow" my walk a little...to help me be more accurate.

OK - now here's the deal - Tonight I decided to watch some of the better bowlers. I sat back and watched Greg Black, Isom Hawes...and later when i got home - a video of Fero Williams. After watching...I am seeing that THEY ALSO WALK LEFT on the approach.

So, I guess my question is -

"Is walking left a bad thing?" (…. It definitely works for them)

In todays game that really isn't a bad thing if you are doing consistantly. Matter of fact in most cases it is better.

I don't think it's a bad thing, as long as your armswing gets in line before you release the ball. I drift about 8 boards RIGHT on my way to the line, but my swing (usually) gets back in line before release.

Wayne is dead on...as long as it's done the same and doesn't interfere with the arm swing....nothing to fix.
