Bowling 200 Community - Forums and Videos for bowlers

When I was growing up, I loved to bowl, but there were no coaches or YABA around. It is great that the youth now have that opportunity.

I have seen a number of good bowlers come out of YABA. However, I am curious as to how many bowlers that went through YABA (aka. USBC Youth) are now coaching in the program?

I barely got in YABA when I first started bowling. I was 20 I believe. I really enjoyed it. Wish I knew about all the scholarships and even got introduced to the sport when I was younger. I would like to help out but being aways from the city for so long really don't know where to start. I am currently getting all the younger kids in my family involved in bowling to take advantage of all it offers.

I'm glad to hear that Bluflame. I know that the Forest Park YABA are looking for coaches. So that may be a good place to start.

Do I have to be certfied through usbc?

No. You don't have to be certified. Just willing to put in the time and commitment. I have been looking forward to becoming certified. Unfortunately there not a lot of opportunities in the Greater Atlanta area.

You can become a level 1 certified coach online. You can find it here

Good morning all,

I'm so thrilled to see the discussions about the youth league. Cedron you have been an advit recruiter and supporter and we really appreciate that. I am so happy to see people like you are still around.

Thanks Wayne for giving the info about the coaches certification.

Hello Martin, we would be honored to have you come and work with the kids. We are seeking our adult bowlers to give any time they may have even if its once per week to do a clinic at the end of our bowling session. We have clinic each Saturday when the kids finish bowling. We try to work on one particular thing during clinic. If any of you are out there and would like to come out and give a clinic that would be great. One of the main focus I would like the kids to work on is how to adjust and oil and dry lanes. Some of them just don't understand how this work and it will help their game.

Martin, we are back at bowling on December 13 and 20 and then off for the holiday. We will return to bowling on January 3. We would love to have you there. If you email me at kimlongshore@hotmail.com I can send you some additional information.

Thanks a bunch
