I don't bowl much anymore...but every now and then I get an itch to go throw away some money. There used to be an action game that moved between Chamblee and Jimmy Carter, but I don't think that is going on anymore. Well...I know it's not at Jimmy Carter and "AMF300" probably doesn't care about pot games.
I live way outside Atlanta and wouldn't be able to come down much....but where and when can I come to town and throw some money away :)
There are always pot games going on with Curtis Wilson and Greg Black, Jr at Forest Park and also at Midtown. There are also $100 to $500 a man doubles games going on Sundays at Brunswick on Spaulding on Sunday Nights around 10 PM. I have been invited to games that are $1,000 a game too at Midtown, where celebrities like Nelly will bowl you for whatever you have... $50 to $1,000 per game (yES, HE CAN BOWL). Greg Black Jr. bowls in them all the time...so maybe you might want to ask him too. http://bowling200.ning.com/profile/GregBlackjr15
Thanks for the replies guys. I'll definitely talk to Greg about it. I wonder if we could get one going again Steve. Chase their used to be a pretty decent game that went on every Saturday between a few centers. Andre Mitchell used to run them and he did a great job. The day would start at $10/gm and work up to $50/$100 before everyone was done. I think it started around 1pm and would run until 5-7pm. If I remember right during 2002 it got the biggest with about 25 guys showing up each week.
I think a game that big is a dead deal. However I think it would be great to get something like that started again for some fun action during the day. The problem is going to be centers wanting the shadow bowl revenue during the day on Saturday instead of $1 lineage for some pot bowlers.
We'll see how it turns out...maybe Sunday mornings we could make it happen. I'll check into the doubles game...it sounds like fun. It's about an hour and a half from my house so I'd have to really plan ahead.
Hey Randy if you just want to give it away just give to me ,it will save me a lot of pain and headaches trying to beat you.By the way where you bowling this fall, give me a call to let me know.
Hey Mike I like to at least make you work a little for it...lol. I'm just bowling at AFC on Wednesday nights. I'm gonna try and start practicing at Loganville a little bit here and there and maybe get back into the tourney scene a little. I am getting the itch to play, but I know that I'm nowhere NEAR sharp enough to compete with the elite in the city right now. I just really miss the action :)
